维多利亚大学位于加拿大西海岸，在温哥华岛最南端的维多利亚市。维多利亚市是英属哥伦比亚省首府，拥有35万人口，到处都有大型购物中心、电影院、餐厅、咖啡店、爵士摇滚俱乐部、活力十足的艺术景观、街头动态音乐及娱乐表演等等。您可尽情享受美丽的公园绿地，或漫步于历史古迹Old Town怀旧，或走访北美最早的唐人街。而且加国巨树环绕成就的天然景观、西岸极致优美的海岸线、及太平洋妩媚的海水，使维多利亚市成为爱好自然者的天堂，空气清新而洁净。山川、湖泊及岛屿距离市区仅咫尺之距，不远处即有世界闻名的布查德花园（Butchart Gardens）。维多利亚享有全加拿大最温和的气候，夏季温暖干燥，气温在15至30度之间，而冬季较短，常伴有降雨。事实上，许多杂志包括Condé、Nest Traveller及Travel Leisure等等都将维多利亚市列举为“全球十大最适宜居住城市”之一。维多利亚以北有著名滑雪胜地华盛顿山，西北方向为世界十大海滩之一的pacific Rim 国家公园。乘坐渡轮可以到达温哥华和西雅图。 是世界著名旅游城市。
维多利亚大学的前身麦吉尔大学维多利亚学院于1903年建成，为不列颠哥伦比亚省历史第一悠久的学院，当时作为中学后教育，为加拿大BC省地区学生提供麦吉尔大学第一年和第二年的人文和科学课程。1963年，维多利亚学院取得大学地位，更名为维多利亚大学。维大的代表颜色为红、金和蓝，吉祥物为维京人。维多利亚大学的校训分别是：“Let there be light（打破黑暗）” 和 “A multitude of the wise is the health of the world（普世智慧是世界发展的基础）”。
维多利亚大学图书馆是温哥华岛上最大的图书馆，是不列颠哥伦比亚省第二大研究型图书馆。该校图书馆主要有三部分，分别是：The McPherson 图书馆、Diana M.Priestly图书馆与Curriculum图书馆。学校最大的图书馆是麦克佛森图书馆，三馆共有藏书190万册，230万份微缩资料、20万份制图资料、音乐资料3.7万个，录像及电影资料10，000部及大量的电子资料，是加拿大最先进的图书馆之一。网上图书馆提供24小时在线查询服务。所有出借服务都自动化、网络化，十分方便，读者可借助图书馆中的国际互联网络查询资料。维多利亚大学还具有高科技的语言教学中心，在这里你可学到多达20种语言，同时还有众多的计算机中心，免费对全校学生和教职员工开放，可提供网络、扫描、电子信件、打印等多种服务。
维多利亚大学共有20个宿舍分布在校区内，为三千多个学生提供住宿。学生可以选择单人房或双人房。单房一般为100-140平方尺而双房则为150-240平方尺；每层宿舍都会有一个公共厕所提供学生使用。每年费用（含餐饮费用）单人房约为7000-8000加元、双人房约为6000-7000加元（含餐饮费用）。 在中国加快融入世界经济的今天，企业面临着多种机遇和挑战。与此紧密相连的高层管理人员进修与培训，也就越来越成为现代企业发展的战略因素。维多利亚大学商学院(University of Victoria, Faculty of Business) 带着其独特的整合性教育模式和为企业量身定做课程的培训模式，以上海为登陆点，积极参与到中国企业的培训和发展战略中。
